Certainly no one can train, or breed dogs in a void, and I am deeply indebted to many people that have (and continue to) help and encourage me through the years. I don't think that I could list everyone without missing someone, so I thank you all.

To my mother who drove me almost every weekend to obedience trials and dog shows until I was old enough to drive myself, and who took care of the dogs on my occasional "non doggy vacations".

To Joanne Weaver my first obedience instructor. You set the stage.

To Shirley Indelicato my second obedience instructor. The force fetch you taught me, with very little change, is what I still use today. It has proven an excellent method from the delicate Shelties to the stoutest Labs.

To Alison Strang. Thank you for sending Eric and Teal to me. Your comments, thoughts, and ideas I will always respect. The book you wrote is true dedication to the breed.

To Ray Haddock (deceased). Even if you did not particularly like the breed, you were the first field trial trainer that took interest in teaching me how to train retrievers.

To Ray Stevenson, Ebonstar Kennels: One of the best dog men around.

To my husband Don: For all your help, support and love. No words can describe how I feel.

To all my Friends and Puppy People: You are great. I know I am not perfect. Paperwork is not my friend. But we stick together, the dogs get trained, puppies grow up.

To my dogs: Not just the Tollers that this website mainly celebrates. To Nutmeg, my first Sheltie, and Amber, Nutmeg's son, my first obedience competition dog. You watched me go thru my teenage years. To Buddy my CFC Lab, you came to me with shallow eyes and a broken sprit. We went back to the beginning and turned you around. Water blinds do not have to be torture. To all my Tollers that this website celebrates. You are my reason for being. You have stood by me thru moves, job changes, and relationship changes.

Lastly to Laura Smith my Orginal Webmaster: You said, "Let's do it" I don't think you conceived the task you were about to undertake. When I said "400-500 pictures" there was silence over my email. But I scanned them all, and I feel the results are worth it. We made it into something not just for myself, but something we can give back to the breed.

Thank You All, Laura Grossman White July 2003
